MEGAN THORBURN
Dance Instructor/Choreographer
Megan was first introduced to dance at the age of 4, in her hometown of Reading, PA. She participated in local competitions in acro, jazz, and tap throughout childhood. In high school, she assisted with training and choreography for acro and jazz classes. Megan is certified in Acrobatic Arts, a program that emphasizes technique and safe progressions in acro instruction. Megan has also completed her Module 1, 2, & 3 certifications in the Alixa Flexibility syllabus.
Megan has a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Connecticut, where her interest in human anatomy and biomechanics was nurtured. Her instructional style is influenced by a belief that a dancer's understanding of proper body alignment is key to injury risk reduction and longevity in dance. She is a lifelong learner and continues to grow in her own artistry by taking drop-in classes in tap, ballet, jazz, and contemporary.
Outside of dance, Megan is a Marine Corps veteran and a self-described cat lady.
